Saudi Arabia imports shrink 17% YoY in April – GaStat
Chemical or allied industries imports decreased by 22.4%

Riyadh – Mubasher: Total merchandise imports of Saudi Arabia registered a value of SAR 39.31 billion during April compared to SAR 47.22 billion in the same month in 2018.

Imports of the kingdom decreased by 16.8% or SAR 7.91 over that period, according to the latest data by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GaStat).

On a monthly basis, merchandise imports of Saudi Arabia dipped by 10.7% or SAR 4.73 in April.

GaStat’s recent report showcased that imports of machinery and mechanical Appliances as well as electrical equipment posted a decline of 24.1% in value to SAR 10.34 billion during April this year from the same month a year ago.

Vehicles and associated transport equipment imports shrank by 4.7% year-on-year in April to SAR 7.4 billion.

Also, products of the chemical or allied industries imports decreased by 22.4% to SAR 4.58 billion in April 2019 from the same month in 2018.
